Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 19, 2026

FixMyPDF.ai is operated by Proof Digital LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website and services at fixmypdf.ai (the "Service").

1. Files You Process

Your files never leave your device. When you use our PDF tools, all processing happens locally in your web browser using client-side JavaScript. Your files are not uploaded to, transmitted through, or stored on our servers or any third-party servers. We never see, access, or have the ability to access your files. Once you close your browser tab, any file data held in browser memory is released.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information: If you create a paid account, we collect your email address and payment information. Payment processing is handled securely by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your full credit card number, expiration date, or CVV — Stripe handles this data directly under their PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure.

Usage Data: We collect anonymized usage data through Google Analytics (GA4) and Cloudflare Web Analytics. This includes pages visited, tools used, browser type, device type, screen resolution, referring URL, and approximate geographic location (country/region level, not precise location). This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you personally.

Local Storage: We use your browser's local storage to track daily free usage counts. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us. It resets daily and contains no personal information — only a date and a number.

Cookies: We use essential cookies set by our hosting provider (Cloudflare) for security and performance. Google Analytics may set cookies to distinguish users and sessions. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect functionality.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: provide and maintain the Service; process payments for paid subscriptions; understand how the Service is used so we can improve it; detect and prevent abuse or misuse; send important service updates to paid subscribers (we do not send marketing emails unless you opt in); and comply with legal obligations.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may collect data as described in their respective privacy policies:

Stripe, Inc.: Payment processing. Stripe collects payment information directly and is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified. stripe.com/privacy

Google Analytics (GA4): Anonymized website analytics. Google may process data on servers outside your country of residence. policies.google.com/privacy

Cloudflare, Inc.: Website hosting, CDN, security, and web analytics. cloudflare.com/privacypolicy

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any other third parties for their marketing purposes.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including HTTPS encryption for all connections, Content Security Policy headers, and secure payment processing through Stripe. Since your PDF files are processed entirely in your browser, they are never exposed to network transmission or server-side storage risks. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to us electronically.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and billing information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Analytics data is retained in aggregated, anonymized form. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

Access and Portability: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

Correction: You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information.

Deletion: You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions.

Opt-Out of Analytics: You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on or by adjusting your browser's cookie settings.

8. International Users

The Service is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer. For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, our legal basis for processing your personal data is legitimate interest (for analytics and service improvement) and contract performance (for paid subscriptions).

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act. You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request deletion of your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at [email protected].

10. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. There is currently no industry standard for how websites should respond to these signals. We do not currently alter our data collection practices in response to Do Not Track signals, but you can opt out of analytics tracking using the methods described in Section 7.

11. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For material changes, we will provide prominent notice. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.

13. Contact Us

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact us at [email protected].
